About The Porches Inn

Porches is located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, in the city of North Adams just off the Mohawk Trail. The renowned Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (known as MASS MoCA) is only a few steps away. Along with everything you've come to expect at an Inn from bathrobes to high spped connection, Porches also has a year round lap pool with heated deck and a hot tub. Building 7 - the space Om La La will use for yoga instruction also houses changing rooms, showers and a sauna.  If that isn't enough to interest you there are a lot of nearby walks and hikes as well as great restaurants in town. For more information on The Porches, visit www.porches.com.

Travel Information

You must arrange your own transportation to The Porches Inn.

Driving Directions:

From the Boston Area
Follow Route 2 West through Greenfield and over the Mohawk Trail into North Adams (North Adams is 130 miles from Boston).
Approximately 3 miles past the hairpin turn, you will come to the first traffic light (at Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds). Go straight through that set of lights. At the next set of lights (just after the Super Big Y supermarket), take a right on to Holden Street and an immediate left on to St. Anthony's Drive (no street sign, but the church takes up the whole block). Turn right on Marshall Street, then left onto River Street.

Porches is on the Right.
The Yellow Building is the Reception Building.

From New York City

Take the FDR Drive North
to Willis Avenue bridge to Major Deegan Expressway/Route 87 Northto Saw Mill River Parkway Northto Taconic State Parkway North (or from west side, take Henry Hudson North to Saw Mill to Taconic.)
You will be on the Taconic for approximately an hour and a half.

From the Taconic, exit off Route 295 East (in Chatham, NY -- exit sign says "last exit before toll") and follow 295 East to Route 22. Take Route 22 North (through Lebanon, NY, jogging left at Hess Station at the end of the New Lebanon strip) to Route 43 East (in Stephentown, NY). Route 43 will be a sharp right at a traffic light about 5 miles outside New Lebanon.

Route 43 intersects Route 7 at "The Store at Five Corners" in Williamstown, MA. Continue straight on Route 43 until it dead-ends at Route 2 in Williamstown. Turn right on to Route 2 East. In approximately 4 miles, in the center of North Adams, you will bear right on to an off-ramp marked "exit for downtown business district, Route 8." At the bottom of the exit ramp (at the traffic light), take a left on to Marshall Street. Drive under the overpass, passing MASS MoCA on your left. Turn left onto River Street.

Porches is on the right.
The yellow building is the Reception Building.
